FAQ

Stainless steel bar weight calculator FAQ

Is this calculator for actual shipment weight?

No. It gives theoretical weight. Final shipment weight may vary with tolerance, finish, cutting loss and production condition.

Why do different stainless steel grades use different densities?

Different alloy compositions have slightly different nominal densities, so grade selection can change the calculated weight.

Can I calculate 2205 or 2507 duplex stainless steel bar weight?

Yes. Choose the 2205 / S31803 / S32205 or 2507 / S32750 density option. The result is theoretical weight based on nominal density, not final shipment weight.

What should I use for hex bar size?

Use the across-flats dimension, not the corner-to-corner distance.

Can I use the result for a quotation request?

Yes, as a first estimate. For quotation, also send grade, exact size, length, quantity, finish and destination.

Need a quote after checking the weight?

Send the grade, size, length, quantity and destination. We can review stock condition, cutting path and export support.
